Droid Incredible review

At this point, the HTC Incredible should seem like pretty familiar territory to our readers. We first caught wind of the device in a ROM leak back in December of 2009, and shortly thereafter saw lots of little snippets on the phone that made it clear it was headed our way. Of course, it's a potent combination that's been put together here -- an HTC-made, Verizon-locked device sporting a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 8GB of internal storage, 748MB of ROM, a microSD slot (with support for up to 32GB cards), an 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash and autofocus, 480 x 800 AMOLED capacitive touchscreen, and most importantly, Android 2.1 with HTC's Sense UI on-board. The combo of America's largest (and some say best) 3G network with...

NEW NOKIA C6

Nokia C6 entry-level touchscreen slider phone, going below the N97 mini with which it shares styling cues. According to a leak, it will retain a touchscreen and a hidden hardware QWERTY keyboard. The trackpad that is present on the full-size N97 would be back on the C6.  An additional and potentially more noticeable difference would be a more conventional sliding action: it wouldn't angle the phone up towards the user like it does on the N97 and N97 mini. The C6 should have just 256MB of onboard storage, though a microSD slot would let users expand it.  Pricing and release dates for the C6 haven't been made public, though the device is expected to launch in Europe this summer. A North American release is likely shortly...

Take wireless charging on the go

WildCharger's products have always left us a bit divided. Though the wireless charging pads certainly work as promised, we haven't rushed out to buy them. Sure the ability to charge several gadgets at once is convenient, and the technology certainly is novel, but we can be content with powering our handset the normal way.WildCharge, however, is busily expanding its product line, and at CES 2010 the company (now called Pure Energy Solutions) showed the a new Portable WildCharge Pad. At 5.24 inches long by 2.7 inches wide by 0.47 inch deep, the pad can fit one cell phone comfortably. It weighs just 4.23 ounces so it slips easily into a bag or even a large pocket. It accommodates all current handset skins, which are required to charge...

Nissan Bets on the Electric Car

Unlike EVs that placed batteries in the back seat and trunk, the Leaf's pack will reside under the floor. Source: Nissan View Slideshow From the Altra EV of a decade ago to today's Leaf, Nissan claims it has doubled its battery's energy density and power. In interviews, however, the automaker hasn't revealed if it is comparing today's number to the 1998 figure, which was 90 W-hr/kg, or to some earlier figure. Most experts believe the new number is between 140-150 W-hr/kg. "I suspect that the ‘factor two' phrasing is being used loosely, in a marketing way," says David Swan, founder and president of DHS Engineering, a consulting engineering firm that designs and tests batteries. "Who's going to say, ‘We boosted it by a factor of 1.7?'" Whatever...
